About the Role

The NHS England is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join the Insights and Intelligence Team in the South West Region. As a key member of the Analytical Products Team, you will play a crucial role in delivering data, automation, and visualization topics to support the region and Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) with their analytical needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all regular reporting, including data cleansing and quality assurance.
  • Develop ad-hoc reporting solutions and integrate data feeds from disparate sources.
  • Respond to incoming requests for information in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Develop business intelligence reports and plan, design, manage, execute, and report tests using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Be highly numerate and use a variety of analytical techniques to provide high-quality, timely analysis and intelligence relating to key priorities.
  • Be adaptable when finding analytical solutions to problems, to analyze and triangulate data in innovative ways and present findings clearly to a range of audiences.
  • Log, analyze, and manage problems to identify and implement the appropriate solution, ensuring that the problem is fixed.
Requirements
  • A level 2 qualification in English/Maths (GCSE or equivalent) or successful resit of functional skills exam.
  • Previous experience of working in a data analytics role or ability to demonstrate ability to utilize data at a basic level.
  • Good understanding of analytical tools and highly numerate.
  • Basic statistical knowledge.
  • Experience of generating reports from the analysis of raw data.
  • High degree of computer literacy (Microsoft Excel is essential).
  • Ability to use spreadsheets and relational databases.
  • Understands the importance of high-quality information and associated confidentiality issues.
  • Able to manage, clean, abstract, and aggregate data.
  • Knowledge and application of quality assurance processes to data and analysis.
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures, project management, or information analysis.
  • Knowledge of project principles.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development.
Desirable Skills
  • Understanding of industry-recognized data modeling patterns and standards.
  • Previously worked in a similar position within the public sector.
