About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant - SEMH. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting students with social emotional and mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with our experienced teaching team to provide tailored support for students facing mental health challenges.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and techniques to create a structured and positive classroom environment.
  • Foster a safe and supportive atmosphere that encourages emotional well-being and personal growth.
  • Provide one-on-one and group support during lessons, activities, and interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, counsellors, and therapists to facilitate holistic development for students.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with young people facing mental health challenges and challenging behaviours, ideally in a school or therapeutic setting.
  • An interest in or studies related to psychology, counselling, or therapy, which can complement your ability to provide effective support.
  • Empathy, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting individuals in improving their mental well-being.
  • Strong communication and de-escalation skills to effectively manage challenging situations.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the diverse emotional and behavioural needs of students.
