Senior Planning Director

Carrington West is seeking an experienced Associate Planning Director to join their dynamic team in York. As a key member of the leadership team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the company's planning and urban design strategy.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a proven track record in senior planning roles, ideally with private sector experience. You will be responsible for leading high-profile projects, mentoring junior staff, generating new business opportunities, and collaborating with architects, planners, and designers across the company's offices.
Key Responsibilities- Lead on high-profile projects across the private sector, from land promotion to city centre regeneration.
- Mentor and develop junior members of staff, offering guidance and support.
- Generate new business opportunities while maintaining relationships with existing clients.
- Collaborate with architects, planners, and designers across the company's offices, outsourcing when necessary.
- Drive the long-term development of the business with plenty of opportunity for growth.
- Proven experience in a senior planning role, ideally with private sector experience.
- Planning degree or masters.
- MRTPI status.
- Demonstrable ability to manage projects and generate new business.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Passionate and ambitious, with a desire to grow with the company.
