Job Title: Associate Planning Director

Carrington West is seeking an experienced Associate Planning Director to join their dynamic team in York. As a key member of the leadership team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-profile projects across the private sector, from land promotion to city centre regeneration.

About the Role

As an Associate Planning Director, you will be responsible for leading on high-profile projects, mentoring and developing junior members of staff, generating new business opportunities, and collaborating with architects, planners, and designers across the offices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on high-profile projects across the private sector, from land promotion to city centre regeneration.
  • Mentor and develop junior members of staff, offering guidance and support.
  • Generate new business opportunities while maintaining relationships with existing clients.
  • Collaborate with architects, planners, and designers across the offices, outsourcing when necessary.
  • Drive the long-term development of the business with plenty of opportunity for growth.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in a senior planning role, ideally with private sector experience.
  • Planning degree or masters.
  • MRTPI status.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage projects and generate new business.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Passionate and ambitious, with a desire to grow with the company.
Benefits

Carrington West offers a competitive salary, performance-related bonus, 25 days of annual leave (rising to 27 after 5 years), plus office closure over Christmas. You will also receive private medical care, income protection, and death in service benefits.

Projects You'll Work On

You will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, including:

  • Residential developments via our Urban Design team.
  • Planning for commercial projects such as schools, blue light headquarters, and industrial sites.
  • Regeneration of city centre spaces.
  • A wide variety of sectors, with the only exception being minerals and waste.
