Head of Construction

Bellway is a leading house builder in the UK, and we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Construction to join our team. As a key member of our construction department, you will be responsible for the management and success of our construction operations, ensuring that we deliver high-quality homes on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage and lead a team of construction professionals to deliver construction projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  2. Develop and implement construction strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  3. Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and procedures, and maintain a safe working environment for all employees and stakeholders.
  4. Collaborate with other departments, including sales and customer care, to deliver exceptional customer care ratings.
  5. Manage site preliminary and overhead costs, and ensure that best practices are followed at all times.
  6. Deliver regular construction and management reports to the Main Board, and attend monthly valuation meetings.
  7. Mentor, manage, and motivate the construction team to achieve their full potential.
Requirements
  1. Senior management experience in a construction function, preferably with a volume house builder.
  2. Relevant qualifications, such as a CSCS card, SMSTS certificate, and HND in Construction or Level 7 Construction NVQ.
  3. Strong communication, listening, and presentation skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a team.
  4. Excellent attention to detail, methodical, and organized, with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Ability to problem-solve and delegate effectively, with strong IT skills and the ability to adapt to new systems.
