Programme Director Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Programme Director to lead our Fusion Programme, which supports our growth strategy for our British Gas field business. The programme involves the implementation of new technologies to enhance customer service, simplify and standardise processes and technology across our businesses, and move to a single finance platform and entity.

The Role:
  • Develop and enhance the Programme Vision and Objectives, ensuring programme scope and boundaries are defined.
  • Establish a governance structure that drives clear accountability and responsibility.
  • Manage resource allocation effectively and mitigate programme risks through identification, assessment, and resolution.
  • Prioritise high-impact activities and develop a stakeholder engagement strategy to align and gain support from stakeholders.
  • Establish and monitor key performance metrics for the programme, including what success looks like.
  • Ensure training and deployment plans are developed upfront, and communication strategies are in place to ensure key messages and actions are timely.
  • Balance the risk between the need for change and operational stability.
  • Ensure credible planning across the programme takes place, taking account of interdependencies, and programme finances are managed in line with approved budgets.
The Person:

We are looking for a Programme Director with major programme leadership skills gained from a large complex organisation, preferably in the energy, FMCG, or utilities sectors. Experience in Salesforce CRM software implementation is essential, as well as knowledge and experience of both waterfall and Agile delivery methods, including dev-ops. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of IT-enabled business change and the delivery of benefits in a large, complex organisation with sometimes conflicting needs across different stakeholders.

Experience in providing strategic direction in the areas of governance, strategy, program management, vendor management, and portfolio management is also required. The Programme Director will be responsible for managing dependencies across multiple projects and programmes, as well as significant software and integration activities. A desire to develop Programme skills in the business and grow capability is essential.
