About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director to lead our Planned Care and Cancer team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire portfolio of work, including policy development, budget/resource management, and risk management.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in healthcare policy, strategic planning, and leadership. They will be able to build collaborative relationships across all levels, combining leadership skills with the ability to transform services to meet the unique needs of our local populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategic planning of the System's objectives and projects around Planned Care, Cancer, and Diagnostics Services.
  • Develop and implement robust use of financial, quality, data, and business intelligence to drive the improvement of services' performance.
  • Ensure that systems are in place to enable the effective and timely monitoring, assessment, and management of all performance targets.
  • Provide high-level performance information and data to monitor and manage the system around Planned Care, Cancer, and Diagnostics.
  • Identify and assess opportunities for new ways of working and redesign to existing services and markets in Planned Care, Cancer, and Diagnostics.
Requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of specialist areas acquired through postgraduate diploma or equivalent experience or training.
  • Evidence of post-qualifying and continuing professional development.
  • Strong understanding of current healthcare policy and its implications on engagement.
  • Experience of budgetary responsibility, including budget setting and working knowledge of financial processes.
  • Ability to identify risks, anticipate issues, and create solutions.
  • Experience of planning and delivering programmes and projects and services on time.
  • Ability to work without supervision, providing specialist advice to the organisation.
