Job Summary:

Oliver James, a leading partner-led pensions consultancy, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join their dedicated Risk Transfer team as a Trainee Risk Transfer Consultant. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified actuarial trainee to gain hands-on experience in managing client accounts and supporting de-risking strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support a portfolio of client accounts in managing their risks and providing high-quality advice on de-risking strategies and transactions.
  • Collaborate with Trustee Boards and Sponsoring Employers to deliver de-risking solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of de-risking strategies and transactions, working closely with the team to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Assist in the analysis and evaluation of risk transfer opportunities, identifying potential benefits and challenges.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Part-qualified actuarial status with a strong desire to progress in the field.
  • Actuarial experience in pensions or insurance, with a keen interest in risk transfer.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
