Workforce Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workforce Development Coordinator to join our Quality and Assurance team at Wiltshire Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality training and development interventions for Adult Care practitioners, ensuring they have the skills, knowledge, and support needed to provide exceptional support for our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver training and development interventions for Adult Care practitioners, including specification, sourcing, implementation, delivery, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Work closely with the Principal Social Worker, Principal Occupational Therapist, and HR & OD colleagues to identify training needs and develop training programs.
- Commission training from external providers and coordinate training activities organized by other services within the council or by partner agencies.
- Support and facilitate direct learning and development activities for the workforce.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training and development interventions, making recommendations for improvement.
- Relevant degree-level qualification or equivalent in a relevant field, such as social care, training and development, or a related field.
- Experience of working in Social Care/Adult Care or a similar environment, with a thorough understanding of adult care, including current legislation, policy, and best practices.
- Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to communicate simply and effectively with a wide range of people at all levels of the organization.
- ICT competent, including the use of Microsoft Office applications and specialist systems.
- Ability to keep up to date with local and national issues, best practice, and changes in legislation affecting adult care.
