About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Site Manager to lead our team in Plymouth, as part of the Sherford site development in South Devon. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a new market town currently under construction, which will provide 5,500 new homes over the next 10-15 years.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the management of designated development projects, ensuring progressive project completion to quality and specification, and within budget. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a timber frame development, with experience in timber frame construction essential.

Key Accountabilities

  • To direct the necessary resources, including labour, plant, staff, and equipment, to achieve both plot and project completion on time, to specification and within budget.
  • To monitor that the Buying team and Surveying department order the correct materials and sub-contract services in good time to meet contract objectives.
  • To manage site teams by monitoring performance against contract targets and instigating any necessary corrective actions.
  • To ensure compliance with Group Safety Policy and Health and Safety Regulations.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A proven background in new build housing site management and timber frame.
  • Valid SMSTS certificate.
  • Valid First Aid at Work certificate.
  • Able to manage projects and deliver quality work on time, within budget.
  • Able to work as part of a team as well as autonomously.
  • Able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
