The University of Cambridge seeks to appoint a renowned scientist as the Prince Philip Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.

Job Description

We are looking for an individual with a strong research background in ecology and evolution to take up appointment on 1 October 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Key Responsibilities
  • To conduct research of international standing in either ecology or evolution, or both.
  • To shape the direction and emphasis of research, teaching and impact in ecology and/or evolution at Cambridge.
  • To provide academic leadership in ecology and/or evolution not only in the Department and within the wider University, but also nationally and internationally.
Requirements

We are seeking an outstanding researcher with:

  • An awareness of the importance of, and the willingness to promote, the recruitment and training of the next generation of biologists working in ecology and evolution.
  • A commitment to providing high-quality teaching and supervision to students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Salary

The salary for this position is £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
