Fusion Waste Management Professional

We are looking for a talented Nuclear Materials Analyst to join our team at UKAEA Special Techniques Group.
About the Role:This exciting opportunity will see you working on a variety of projects related to nuclear materials analysis and waste estimation.
- You will be responsible for undertaking waste estimation activities to assess the likely nature and quantities of waste materials from the JET fusion reactor and other UKAEA experiments.
- You will also conduct waste sampling activities to support the determination of waste management/disposal routes.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nuclear materials analysis and experience with waste estimation and sampling techniques. You will be expected to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders via face-to-face or online presentations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake waste estimation activities to assess the likely nature and quantities of waste materials.
- Conduct waste sampling activities to support the determination of waste management/disposal routes.
- Support the production and review of technical documentation.
- Communicate waste information/data to internal stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Champion current best practices to inform decision-making for varied and novel waste-related projects.
- Engage effectively with internal stakeholders to promote the appropriate processing of wastes.
- Work in accordance with UKAEA policy and undertake any other reasonable tasks or duties requested by your manager.
