About this role: We are seeking a highly skilled Equipment Engineering Team Leader to join our team at BAE Systems (New).

Estimated Salary Range: £54,793+ per annum, dependent on skills and experience.

Job Overview: As an Equipment Engineering Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing a team of Equipment Engineers across various equipment programmes. You will work closely with suppliers, handling customer issues, and gaining valuable insights into the aircraft's design and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of Equipment Engineers, ensuring that team deliverables are completed in line with safety, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
  • Supplier Engagement: Support supplier engagement and management of equipment programmes, including Supplier Design Reviews and reviewing Supplier documentation.
  • Aircraft Build Lines: Support the Aircraft build lines at Warton/Samlesbury and across Europe, whilst also supporting in-service customers.
  • Test and Development: Support internal test and development activities, including provision of rig and flight test support.
  • Data Management: Use toolsets to manage team workload and tasking, whilst also providing data for reporting to internal stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Work with System Architects, Airframe Specialists, Project teams, and Suppliers to define and agree specifications for Airborne equipment requirements.

Requirements:

  • Degree: Degree in a STEM subject or equivalent with relevant experience gained in an aircraft engineering project or related field.
  • Complex Data Presentation: Ability to develop and present a range of complex data to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Issue Resolution: Ability to identify and pro-actively resolve issues impacting Program, escalating any issues for resolutions by exception.
  • Lifecycle Understanding: Good understanding of the 'V' Lifecycle and its application to the production of qualification/certification requirements.
  • Customer and Supplier Relationships: Experience in liaising and managing customer and supplier relationships.
