About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Support Worker to join our team at Caremark Rotherham & Sheffield. As a key member of our support team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the wellbeing, development, and care of our clients who live within the community.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people with physical and learning disabilities, complex and clinical needs. You will be responsible for supporting them to lead an independent life, promoting their mental and physical health, and enabling them to achieve their personal goals and aspirations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support children with daily living activities, such as personal care, nutrition, and hydration needs.
  • Assist with mobility and physical disabilities, including incontinence and use of personal aids and equipment.
  • Accompany clients on outings, such as trips to the cinema or other day trips.
  • Provide care and support for clients who are temporarily sick or terminally ill.
  • Help promote mental and physical activities through talking, outings, reading, writing, hobbies, and recreations.
  • Support clients with tracheostomy care, PEG care, and other complex health conditions where applicable.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience supporting children and young people with physical and learning disabilities.
  • Experience working in the care sector, preferably in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including alternate weekends.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to providing high-quality care and support.
