About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Support Worker to join our team at Caremark Rotherham & Sheffield. As a key member of our support team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the wellbeing, development, and care of our clients who live within the community.

This role involves supporting children who may have physical and learning disabilities, complex and clinical needs to lead an independent life. You will work closely with our clients and their families to understand their individual needs and develop personalized support plans to help them achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support children with daily living activities such as personal care, nutrition, and hydration needs
  • Assist with mobility and physical disabilities, including incontinence and use of personal aids and equipment
  • Support clients out in the community, such as trips shopping, to the cinema or other day trips
  • Care for clients who are temporarily sick and need bed nursing and help with feeding etc.
  • Provide care and support for clients who may be terminally ill
  • Help in the promotion of mental and physical activities of clients through talking, outings, reading, writing, hobbies, and recreations
  • Support clients with tracheostomy care, PEG care, and other complex health conditions where applicable
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience supporting children
  • Experience of working in the care sector

You will also need to be flexible, punctual, responsible, trustworthy, and reliable to enable you to build professional relationships with your clients, families, and other professionals involved in their support.
