Job Summary:

Vision for Education - Sheffield is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team in a temporary to permanent role. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to young people with special educational needs in a residential setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work within a children's residential setting with Looked After Children (LAC) who may have Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) issues, as well as other needs such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and attachment disorders.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with young people, promoting their emotional well-being and supporting them in achieving their goals.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of individualized care plans, ensuring the needs of each young person are met.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide a safe and supportive environment for young people.
  • Participate in report writing and record keeping, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of each young person's progress.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 6 months' experience in a relevant setting, such as a school, youth centre, sports coaching, residential setting, or respite centre.
  • An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) registration or the willingness to apply for one.
  • A full clean driving license held for over 3 years, with own transport.
  • The ability to work Monday to Sunday on a rota basis.
  • A NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care or a related field (desirable but not essential).
