Job Description

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) is seeking a highly skilled Enforcement Policy Specialist to join its team.

This role involves providing support and advice to DVSA staff, customers, and stakeholders on legislation and Department for Transport (DfT) policies for the enforcement of road traffic legislation.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing and integrating new policies and procedures into front-line enforcement.
  2. Analysing data and information to highlight the benefits of policy change, including costs, benefits, risks, and potential responses.
  3. Working with other areas of the business to ensure developments take appropriate account of wider requirements.
  4. Providing expert technical product/policy advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders and customers/end users.

Requirements include:

  • Strong enforcement experience, allowing you to review, maintain, and support others regarding the enforcement of road traffic legislation.
  • Expert technical vehicle knowledge to develop and improve the effectiveness of DVSA's enforcement policies.
  • Experience of Public Service Vehicles accessibility regulations, as well as experience of onboard diagnostics and vehicle telematics.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to express yourself in a confident and concise manner with colleagues at all levels.
