Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Underwriting Specialist to join our team at Aviva. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers and brokers, driving new business and professional relationships, and contributing to the underwriting profit and loss, trading, and service delivery goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert underwriting services to customers and brokers, ensuring accurate and timely risk assessments and policy issuance.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, brokers, and other stakeholders to drive new business and professional growth.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of underwriting strategies and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless service delivery and achieve business objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices to ensure compliance and excellence in underwriting.

Requirements:

  • Commercial underwriting experience in Motor, Motor Trade, and/or Property & Casualty.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage own workload and work to deadlines.
  • Demonstrate a desire to build knowledge and gain experience in the insurance industry.
  • Ability to follow processes and procedures and work within set underwriting licence frameworks.

What We Offer:

  • Salary of Circa £35,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
  • Bonus opportunity - 8% of annual salary (actual amount depends on performance and Aviva's).
