Position Overview

Leeds City College is seeking a dedicated Mathematics Instructor to join our educational team. If you have a passion for teaching mathematics to adult learners in community settings, this role may be an excellent fit for you. Essential qualifications include experience in Functional Skills and GCSE. Our Adult provision has received commendable recognition for its quality of education.

The teaching team is primarily based at our main center, with additional sessions held at various outreach locations.

Teaching hours are scheduled from Monday to Thursday, with occasional evening sessions, and on Fridays and Saturdays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement comprehensive lesson plans and teaching materials.
  • Deliver engaging instruction and assess student comprehension.
  • Encourage and motivate learners to achieve their educational objectives.
  • Establish supportive relationships with students to facilitate their success.
  • Promote restorative practices within the learning environment.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess a Level 5 Teaching Qualification (e.g., Cert Ed, PGCE) or be willing to pursue one.
  • Hold a relevant vocational qualification or degree in the subject area.
  • Maintain current knowledge in mathematics and have recent teaching experience.
  • Exhibit the ability to set clear and achievable goals for student progression.
  • Familiarity with contemporary teaching methodologies and diverse instructional practices.
  • Inspire learners to reach their full potential.
