About the Role

Jupiter Recruitment is seeking an exceptional Deputy Ward Manager to join their team in Preston, Lancashire. As a key member of the mental health hospital staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the smooth operation of the ward.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate education, clinical practices, and audits to promote excellence in patient care.
  • Manage the ward in the absence of the manager, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Oversee nursing care assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation within agreed parameters.
  • Identify and address training needs for colleagues.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and rights in accordance with good practice and legislation.
  • Establish effective communication pathways.
  • Collaborate with the Ward Manager to provide exceptional inpatient care.
  • Facilitate group programs for patients.

Requirements

  • Clinical supervision experience is essential.
  • Evidence of continued professional development (CPD) and leadership potential is desirable.
  • Strong computer skills are required.
  • Experience in acute mental health is preferred.
  • A minimum of 18 months' post-registration experience or equivalent is ideal.
  • Mentorship skills are beneficial, although training can be provided.
