Role Overview

The Secondary SEMH Teaching Assistant role is available in a thriving alternative education provision catering to young people aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs.

Job Description
  • As a dedicated support worker, you will work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons and promote positive behaviors among pupils.
  • You will engage, motivate, and maintain focus of pupils while assisting with input to learning, preventing or de-escalating challenging behaviors.
Requirements
  • An enhanced DBS certificate is required for this role, as well as overseas police clearances (if applicable).
  • A valid UK visa is necessary for employment in the country.
  • Some experience supporting children with challenging behaviors is essential for success in this position.
