Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Cost Manager to join our team. As a Cost Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality cost management services to our clients. Your primary objective will be to ensure that client objectives are met through the effective delivery of cost management services.
Key Responsibilities- Commission Management: You will be responsible for managing commissions of varying sizes, depending on the complexity of the project. Typically, projects fall within the £5m to £10m range.
- Cost Planning and Estimating: You will assist in feasibility studies, write procurement reports, estimate and cost plan, and produce and present the final cost plan.
- Tendering and Procurement: You will manage the pre-qualification stage, produce the tender list, produce the preliminaries, tender analysis, produce the tender report, and compile the contractual documents.
- Contract Administration: You will conduct the role of contract administrator, dealing effectively with post-contract cost variances and change control processes.
- Cost Reporting and Negotiation: You will produce monthly post-contract cost reports, present them to the client, and negotiate and agree final accounts.
- Client Interface: You will interface with the client, Project Manager, and other consultants at all project stages.
- Team Leadership: You may be required to lead a cost management team, ensuring that they deliver on all of the above accountabilities.
- Professional Qualifications: You should be working towards or have full membership of the RICS (MRICS), ACostE, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Cost Management Experience: You should have cost management experience within the build construction arena, ideally within property and real estate sectors.
- Analytical Skills: You should be an analytical thinker, open to learning from others.
- Client-Facing Skills: You should be able to be client-facing and focused.
- Drive and Passion: You should have drive, passion, and decisiveness, with the ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
