About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost Manager to join our team at Turner & Townsend Group. As a Cost Manager, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality cost management services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commission Management
    • Manage commissions of varying sizes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of cost management services.
    • Assist in feasibility studies and write procurement reports.
    • Estimate and cost plan, producing and presenting the final cost plan.
    • Tender and procure, including managing the pre-qualification stage and producing tender reports.
    • Conduct contract administration, dealing with post-contract cost variances and change control processes.
  • Cost Management
    • Take personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects.
    • Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to clients.
    • Negotiate and agree final accounts.
  • Client Relationship Management
    • Interface with clients, project managers, and other consultants at all project stages.
    • Work collaboratively with our project management team during project delivery.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead a cost management team, ensuring they deliver on all accountabilities.
  • Business Development
    • Identify opportunities to develop new business with existing clients.
    • Develop and maintain a professional network of peers and potential clients.
    • Assist in the production of bid documentation.
  • Internal Management
    • Knowledge management – ensure key information and learning generated from each commission is input into our internal database.
    • Process improvement – identify ways to improve internal systems and processes.
    • Assist in the support, development, and mentorship of junior staff members.
    Requirements
    • Working towards or recently achieved Chartered Status.
    • Cost management experience within the build construction arena, ideally within property and real estate sectors.
    • An analytical thinker, open to learning from others.
    • Ability to be client-facing and focused.
    • Drive, passion, and decisiveness, with an ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
