About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team at Amazon UK Services Ltd. As an Operations Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics network, focusing on safety, efficiency, and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain a culture of safety and wellbeing within the team
  • Analyse and implement changes to improve quality and productivity
  • Oversee projects to streamline processes and improve customer service
  • Monitor shift performance and implement actions to improve operational excellence
  • Collaborate with management-level colleagues to standardise shift practices
A Day in the Life

You will work on a shift pattern at one of our sites, focusing on owning and driving a culture of safety and upholding quality and shift performance standards. You will also oversee process improvements and drive implementation, as well as being a role model and mentor to new managers.

About the Team

Amazon Logistics, or AMZL, handles 'last mile' delivery duties in partnership with third-party distribution businesses. We utilise creative thinking and continuous improvement initiatives to get millions of physical products into the hands of our customers. Our goal is to make our customers' delivery experience as smooth as possible and roll out global delivery solutions for our newest concepts, like Amazon Fresh, Prime Now and Amazon Restaurants.

Basic Qualifications
  • A degree
  • Relevant experience in people management
  • Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadership
  • Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions
  • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and local language

Experience working with Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen techniques

Experience working in another logistics environment

Relevant experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment
