Job Title: English/Functional Skills Tutor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced English/Functional Skills Tutor to join our team in the Westminster area.

This locum position offers a part-time schedule of 9 hours per week, with a competitive hourly rate of £31.48.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences for learners
  • To track and monitor learners' progress to ensure maximum outcomes
  • To assess learners in line with qualification specifications and awarding body requirements to enhance opportunities
  • To provide advice, guidance, and support to learners to maximise their outcomes and progression opportunities
  • To support Managers and Course Leaders to achieve the Service's required targets
  • Create engaging and interactive lessons tailored to individual learner needs, focusing on English and functional skills (Entry Level to Level 2)
  • Regularly assess learners' progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain records of their achievements to support their development
  • Contribute to the planning and continuous improvement of the Functional Skills curriculum, ensuring content is relevant, practical, and in line with current educational standards
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
  • A recognised teaching qualification (Level 3) such as QTS or PGCE
  • Demonstrable IT skills
  • Hold a recognised subject specialism qualification at a minimum of level 3
  • Current experience of teaching in a post-16/further education/adult education setting
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to engage and inspire learners
Salary:

£30,000 - £40,000 per annum (based on 37.5 hours per week)
