We have an exciting opportunity at HMP Wandsworth to join our education team as a permanent, full-time Learning Support Practitioner. Working 37 hours a week (Monday - Friday with an early finish on a Friday), this role offers the chance to make a difference in the lives of individuals.
As part of Novus, we work with passion, care, and commitment to create foundations for change. For almost 30 years, we have been helping men, women, and children of all ages and abilities in prison settings across England and Wales to take new directions.
Job Description:
HMP Wandsworth is seeking a skilled Learning Support Practitioner to join their education team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting targets to help individuals with their learning plans and writing learning support plans. They will also assist teachers with strategies to support inclusion across the curriculum.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong understanding of how people learn and methods to enhance learning experiences
- Experience working effectively with individuals presenting challenging behaviour
- Good IT skills
- Certification or willingness to obtain level 2 qualifications in literacy and numeracy within a specified timeframe
- Certification or willingness to obtain a level 2 or 3 qualification for Learning Support Practitioners within a specified timeframe
- A commitment to maintaining professionalism and adhering to organisational values
