Job Description

This exciting opportunity is available for a Reception Supervisor to join our team at the Tavistock Hotel, located in the heart of Bloomsbury, London. As a Reception Supervisor, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional guest service, addressing any shortfalls in service quality and operating standards.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Checking arrivals for the next day and 3 days in advance & checking the guests in/out, taking payments.
  • Supporting staff through conflict resolution, effective time management, workload prioritisation and individual staff development.
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of hotel facilities and processes, contributing to a culture of high-quality standards for relationship building, customer service and selling techniques.
  • Providing support, information and guidance to new staff members to ensure they integrate and operate in accordance with company procedures and expectations as quickly and seamlessly as possible.
  • Ensuring that all bookings are guaranteed and no-show charges/late cancellation charges are applied where appropriate.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Previous experience as a Reception Supervisor or Front of House supervisor in a similar operation.
  • A personable and engaging nature with the ability to build rapport easily, with great communication skills with both internal departments and guests alike.
  • You will be a natural leader with the ability to motivate and develop a team to reach their full potential both personally and professionally.
  • A positive can-do attitude, calm under pressure, able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft and knowledge of Reservation Systems (Opera) and 3C.
