Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Applied Psychologist/Psychological Therapist to join our Transformation Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering highly specialist psychological care to clients with complex mental health conditions or learning disabilities.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide highly specialist psychological assessment and intervention to clients with complex mental health conditions or learning disabilities.
- Provide clinical supervision and training to less experienced colleagues within the designated psychology service and to other members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Undertake formal research as an integral part of the job and act as field supervisor to doctorate trainees.
- Promote a positive image of people with mental ill health or learning disabilities at all times.
Requirements:
- Qualification in psychological assessment and psychological therapy (e.g. Postgraduate diploma in CBT, IAPT High Intensity CBT diploma, CAT diploma).
- Accredited in a Governed Psychological Therapy via a recognised accrediting body as cited in the Trust's Governed Psychological Therapies: Definitions, Standards and Coding document.
- Trained in clinical supervision and care coordination.
- Significant experience in consultation, clinical supervision, and audit activities.
Key Skills:
- Significant and specialist knowledge of the theory, practice, and evidence-based in the use of complex methods of assessment, intervention, and management of complex cases based on psychological therapy models across a range of client presentations and care settings.
- Significant experience of at least one Trust approved governed Psychological therapy that meets criteria for Psychological therapist employment in the Trust.
- Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their family, carers, and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.
- Skills in providing clinical supervision and consultation to other professional and non-professional groups.
