About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Ecologist to join our team of specialists in ecological consultancy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for undertaking terrestrial ecology site work and supporting the preparation and writing of reports through data processing, analysis, and interpretation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Phase 1 Habitat and UK Habitat Classification surveys
  • Write Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and protected species survey reports
  • Conduct protected species surveys (e.g. bats, birds, dormice, GCN, otter, water vole, etc.)
  • Apply UK environmental and wildlife legislation
  • Work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with effective teamwork and excellent organization and communication skills
  • Travel across the UK with some requirement for overnight stays
Requirements
  • A relevant degree and/or postgraduate qualification with a strong academic record
  • A sound background in natural history and familiarity with UK flora and fauna
  • Experience in ecological consultancy and/or conservation biology
