Ecological Consultant Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Ecological Consultant to join our team of specialists in ecological consultancy services. As an Ecological Consultant, you will be responsible for undertaking terrestrial ecology site work, carrying out background research, preparing fee proposals, managing and analysing field survey data, managing projects, liaising with clients, and interpreting, proofing, and writing technical reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake terrestrial ecology site work, including Phase 1 Habitat and UK Habitat Classification surveys.
  • Carry out background research and prepare fee proposals.
  • Manage and analyse field survey data, including protected species surveys, mitigation, and licensing.
  • Manage projects, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, EcIAs, BNG, and protected species survey reports.
  • Liaise with clients and deliver high-quality written reports.
  • Work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, with effective teamwork and excellent organization and communication skills.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 4 years' relevant professional experience in ecological consultancy or a closely related field.
  • A relevant degree and/or postgraduate qualification, with a strong academic record.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of Phase 1 Habitat and/or UK Habitat Classification surveys.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of undertaking protected species surveys, mitigation, and licensing.
  • Up-to-date knowledge and detailed understanding of UK wildlife legislation and policy.
  • A full UK driving licence.
