Ecological Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Ecologist to join our team of specialists in ecological consultancy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for undertaking terrestrial ecology site work, overseeing and reviewing high-quality technical reports, and managing projects independently.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' relevant professional experience in ecological consultancy or a closely related field, including the public sector or conservation bodies. A relevant degree and/or postgraduate qualification, with a strong academic record, is also required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake terrestrial ecology site work, including Phase 1 Habitat and UK Habitat Classification surveys.
- Oversee and review high-quality technical reports, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, EcIAs, and protected species survey reports.
- Manage projects independently, including project management and liaison with clients.
- Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and policy.
- Produce concise, high-quality written reports, with experience of Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, EcIAs, protected species survey reports, etc.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years' relevant professional experience in ecological consultancy or a closely related field.
- A relevant degree and/or postgraduate qualification, with a strong academic record.
- Knowledge and experience of Phase 1 Habitat and/or UK Habitat Classification surveys.
- Knowledge and experience of undertaking protected species surveys, mitigation, and licensing.
- Up-to-date knowledge and detailed understanding of UK wildlife legislation and policy.
- A full UK driving licence.
