The Cultural Development Specialist will play a pivotal role in driving forward our mission to make sure that the arts and cultural activities we fund are inclusive and accessible to everyone in England. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to shaping the future of our organisation.

About the Role

You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to promote cultural development in the north, working closely with local stakeholders and partners. Your focus will be on empowering communities and organisations to access and engage with the arts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement cultural development strategies, working closely with local stakeholders and partners.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on Arts Council National Lottery Project Grants and other funds.
  • Support our decision-making processes, writing assessments and participating in funding panels.
  • Assess financial information, identify risk, and provide feedback on artistic plans.
  • Take a place-based, creativity-led approach to cultural development, working with local stakeholders in targeted areas.
Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual who can bring a high level of expertise to this role. Key requirements include:

  • A deep understanding of the cultural development sector and its challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience of managing complex relationships and portfolios.
