Workshop Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Workshop Controller to join our team at Altitude-Recruitment Limited. As a key member of our dealership, you will be responsible for leading and inspiring the workshop team to deliver exceptional customer service and ensure the highest levels of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Workshop Operations: Manage the flow of work through the workshop, ensuring quality and compliance of all works carried out.
- Team Leadership: Guide the workshop team to deliver exceptional customer service, while ensuring profitability and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Process Management: Ensure the workshop processes are followed for every job, including receiving job cards, allocating work to technicians, and monitoring progress.
- Quality Control: Oversee MOTs to ensure quality and compliant workmanship and a first-time pass rate.
- Customer Service: Ensure that all customer complaints are dealt with quickly and effectively, and that the image and levels of customer service within the department are in line with company standards.
- Training and Development: Supervise and develop the workshop team, identifying training needs and ensuring that all staff are equipped to perform their roles effectively.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that all statutory requirements, including trading standards, vehicle and consumer legislation, fire, health and safety, etc. are adhered to.
- Industry Qualifications: Industry qualifications achieved to a minimum of Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or mechanical engineering (all modules completed).
- Technical Knowledge: Strong passenger car knowledge and experience.
- Leadership and Communication Skills: Good interpersonal, leadership, and organisational skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff.
- Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt, with the ability to work under pressure and to multi-task in a busy environment.
- Supervisory Experience: Previous experience as a senior technician or in a supervisory role.
