We are seeking a motivated practitioner to join our team, working intensively with families with diverse and complex needs. As a key part of our plan to address key worries such as neglect, poor home conditions, and safety and wellbeing of children, you will work alongside social workers and other partners to provide an holistic support package.

You will work in family homes and out in the community, visiting families multiple times a week for extended visits to really get to know them and understand what works for them and their wider support network.

As a Family Wellbeing Coordinator, you will provide practical support, modelling skills and walking alongside families to make and sustain changes. Some of these families may have had a lot of service support in the past and as a service we are committed to supporting families to make and sustain change, through a family and child centred approach, which is focused on creativity, effective relationships and co-production.

We love to identify and build on strengths within family systems to build resilience and skills, all the while empowering families towards a safe and positive future.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing education to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant area e.g. health and social care, social work etc.
  • Being tenacious, committed to providing excellent support to children and their families and having experience of supporting families.
  • Understanding how a relational, strengths-based approach can empower families to build and sustain change, and how important a good support network is in achieving this.
  • Being committed to delivering high-quality, outcomes-focused support to children and their families.
  • Being able to work flexibly and quickly adapt to fast changing circumstances.
  • Having excellent written and oral communication skills, being able to demonstrate a high level of motivation and being able to work independently, within timescales and often balancing conflicting priorities.
