About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our primary school team as a Teaching Assistant for children with special educational needs (SEND). This role involves providing tailored 1:1 support to children with additional needs, including those with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and emotional or behavioral challenges.

The ideal candidate will have patience, empathy, and enthusiasm about making a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs. Previous experience working with SEND children is desirable but not essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to children with additional needs.
  • Assist with planning and delivering activities that cater to each child's individual learning plan and goals.
  • Support the child's participation in classroom activities while fostering independence.
  • Promote a positive, safe, and nurturing learning environment.

To succeed in this role, you should be comfortable working both within the classroom and in quieter, one-to-one settings outside the main learning environment. Strong communication skills are essential to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other support staff.

This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children with SEND and be part of a welcoming and inclusive school community. The salary for this role is £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications.
