Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified mental health care professional to work in the Boston Crisis and Home Treatment team. The team supports individuals experiencing acute mental health episodes in the Boston, Skegness, Spalding, and surrounding areas.

You will need to demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality care, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a positive attitude towards change and contributing to the evolving nature of the service. You will receive regular supervision from management and clinical staff and be expected to provide support to junior members of the team and students. There are opportunities for training and growth in the role.

The post holder will be responsible for coordinating care needs, assessments, planning, and implementing evidence-based care for a defined group of service users and their carers within the service catchment area. You will also provide professional advice and support to other agencies and members of the multi-disciplinary team.

Main Duties of the Job

The job involves working within the Crisis Team, which includes the S136 Suite, Triage Car, and Rapid Response Car pilot service. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high-standard clinical care, ensuring safe and effective assessment, treatment, and comprehensive discharge planning using highly developed clinical reasoning skills and appropriate assessment tools.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely clinical records and risk assessments, and coordinating those of the team.
  • Developing clinical practice with due regard to Department of Health and other guidelines.
  • Demonstrating empowering leadership skills within the Crisis Team and promoting the profession locally and nationally.
Person Specification

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • RMN or RNLD or RN, S/W, O/T: 1st Level Registration (NMC) or degree or equivalent.
  • Current Registered Professional.
  • ENB998 / FliPS or equivalent.
  • Evidence of specialized continued professional training (degree level) in clinical practice.
  • Management training.
Experience

We are looking for candidates with relevant experience of working with adults with mental health needs or clear evidence of substantial experience working with individuals in crisis and transferable skills to both community and in-patient settings. Experience of working with people with severe and enduring mental illnesses is also desirable.
