Job Title: Director of Information Governance

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to join our team as Director of Information Governance. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing an aligned Health Records Strategy and an Information Governance Strategy for our Trusts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of an aligned Health Records Strategy and an Information Governance Strategy for each Trust.
  • Provide strong leadership to enable the services to respond effectively to the challenges they face, whilst providing efficient information governance and management services and sustained improvements.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with senior corporate, finance and HR colleagues across both Trusts.
  • Ensure that the workforces are appropriately utilised and long term service needs are appropriately planned for in terms of staffing levels, career development and skill mix.
  • Oversee supervision for all staff in line with each Trust's policies.
  • Ensure Personal Development Reviews are conducted in accordance with each Trust's Policies.
  • Ensure that resources allocated are properly and effectively deployed to deliver against agreed targets of time, cost and quality.
Requirements:
  • An MBA/Masters' degree or equivalent management experience including the management of substantial process change, project management and of implementing strategies in a complex multidisciplinary environment.
  • Additional in-depth professional training and specialist knowledge to doctorate or equivalent level, acquired through training and experience over an extended period.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of innovations and developments in health records management systems.
  • Formal qualification in Data Protection Compliance.
  • Management experience at a significant and demonstrable level.
  • Senior management experience in Information Governance and Health records management.
  • Full line and team management experience including leading, developing, motivating, coaching, talent management and application of formal staff.
