Are you passionate about improving data protection and information governance in a local council setting?


We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Corporate Services Division as an Information Governance Apprentice in Merton.


This exciting opportunity will enable you to develop your knowledge and practical understanding of Freedom of Information, Subject Access rights, and the Data Protection Act.


You will work closely with a team of specialist professionals to support and promote positive change to the Council's information governance and the quality of service we provide.


The successful applicant will gain a level 4 certificate in data protection and information governance and have opportunities for professional recognition.


Key responsibilities include:



  • Evidence suitable academic ability, such as GCSE Maths and English (Grade A-C or 9-4) or equivalent;
  • Have an interest in the Freedom of Information and Data Protection Acts;
  • Have some experience of Microsoft office applications, such as Word, Excel, and Teams;
  • Be keen to learn and motivated to succeed;

This apprenticeship will provide you with valuable skills and experience in information governance and data protection, aligning with professional recognition from the Information and Records Management Society and the British Computer Society.
