The Role

We are seeking an outstanding and dynamic Head of English to join our founding teaching team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our English department, developing and implementing our English curriculum, and providing high-quality teaching and learning experiences for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the English department and develop and implement the English curriculum
  • Provide high-quality teaching and learning experiences for students
  • Develop and maintain relationships with parents and the wider community
  • Contribute to the development of the school's academic vision and strategy
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and projects
Requirements
  • PGCE, QTS or equivalent with strong academic credentials
  • Current experience of teaching in an outstanding independent school setting
  • GCSE and A-level teaching experience
  • Outstanding preparation and planning
  • A commitment to professional development
  • Enthusiasm, energy, and a positive and flexible approach
  • Ability to engage and motivate young people
  • Readiness to engage whole-heartedly in the extracurricular and wider life of the school
  • Demonstrable commitment to the safeguarding of students and child protection as well as equal opportunities
