Job Opportunity: Civils & Geotechnical Design Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Manager to join our team on the Letchmore substation project for the National Grid.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all design information is reviewed and delivered in line with the design management procedures for completeness and compliance with contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting consultant teams to maximise their effectiveness and value optimisation in the provision of effective integrated design solutions.
  • Reviewing design delivery to enhance quality of solutions and efficiency of design, procurement, manufacturing, assembly, commissioning and handover of total engineering excellent solutions.
  • Supporting consultants in adopting LOR's design processes, deliver with rigour and quality project management processes and to ensure effective collaboration throughout the supply chain.
  • Capturing business knowledge and capability enabling continuous improvement, innovation and improved capability towards an Engineering Enterprise.
Requirements:
  • Power Sector experience advantageous.
  • First degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering. Other appropriate construction related qualification plus design related experience.
  • Approx 5 years' experience. Different procurement routes, different sector experience. Experience end to end in managing design – from concept to handover.
