About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and innovative pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team as the Lead Pharmacist Clinical Effectiveness. This is an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in the development and implementation of clinical and cost-effectiveness medicines utilisation strategies across Somerset NHS Foundation Trust.

Main Responsibilities

As the Lead Pharmacist Clinical Effectiveness, you will work closely with commissioners, ICB, and NHSE regional specialist commissioning teams to develop and deliver efficiency savings plans for High-Cost Drugs budgets and medicine utilisation in Somerset. You will also be responsible for building close relationships with clinical teams to support the development and implementation of treatment pathways for high-cost drugs and new treatments.

Key Requirements

  • Masters degree or equivalent in Pharmacy
  • Postgraduate Diploma and/or MSc in Clinical Pharmacy and/or General Pharmacy Practice
  • Full current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)

Desirable Qualifications

  • Registered independent prescriber
  • Recognised NHS leadership qualification or equivalent
