Pharmacist Job Description

Ascend Medical Recruitment is seeking a skilled Pharmacist to join our team of healthcare professionals in Taunton. As a Pharmacist, you will be responsible for preparing and checking medication prescribed to patients, identifying potential interactions between drugs, and providing information to patients.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Medication Preparation: Prepare and check medication prescribed to patients, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Drug Interactions: Identify potential interactions between drugs and provide information to patients, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Stock Management: Order stock and ensure it is kept in appropriate conditions, maintaining a clean and organized pharmacy environment.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all medication processed through the pharmacy, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Advice and Guidance: Offer advice on dosages, side effects, and other aspects of drug interaction, providing patients with informed decisions.
  • Community Healthcare: Deliver community healthcare services, including prescription collection and delivery, to patients in need.
  • Screening Programmes: Offer screening programmes for common ailments, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol, to patients.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, hire, and train staff, including Trainee Pharmacists and Pharmacy Assistants, to ensure a skilled and efficient team.
  • Workplace Maintenance: Work with pharmaceutical staff to maintain a clean, customer-friendly workplace, ensuring a positive experience for patients and staff alike.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Masters degree accredited by GPhC.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ensuring effective collaboration with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
