NHS Clinical Effectiveness Lead Pharmacist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated pharmacist to fill the role of Lead Pharmacist Clinical Effectiveness at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a pharmacist to take on a leadership role in developing and implementing clinical and cost-effectiveness medicines utilisation strategies across the Trust.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver efficiency savings plans for High-Cost Drugs budgets and medicine utilisation in Somerset.
- Work closely with commissioners, ICB, and NHSE regional specialist commissioning teams to achieve these plans.
- Support the development and implementation of treatment pathways for high-cost drugs and new treatments.
- Manage the Trust formulary with a robust evidence-based approach and oversee the implementation of NICE and commissioner-endorsed treatments.
- Contribute to the delivery of general high-quality clinical pharmacy services meeting the needs of patients and healthcare professionals within the Trust.

Requirements
- Masters degree or equivalent in Pharmacy.
- Postgraduate Diploma and/or MSc in Clinical Pharmacy and/or General Pharmacy Practice.
- Full current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Registered independent prescriber.
- Recognised NHS leadership qualification or equivalent.
Experience
- Demonstrable pharmacy experience delivering clinical pharmacy practice at an advanced level (min 5 years).
- Significant experience in clinical pharmacy management of complex patients.
- Demonstrable clinical pharmacy experience of general medicine, general surgery (including non-specialist service provision to acute and emergency patients).
- Significant experience of in-house one-to-one teaching, including clinical training and/or mentoring of pharmacy staff.
- Experience of staff management, appraisal, and objective setting.
