Job Title: Children's Deputy Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Children's Deputy Manager to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Dispensary Manager in the provision of all operational aspects of the dispensary service. This will include deputising as necessary in the management of the service, ensuring that all dispensary staff work to a high standard in providing quality pharmacy services to patients and other healthcare workers.

Main Responsibilities
  • Organise and manage the provision of all dispensary-based services, including inpatients, outpatients, and controlled drugs to agreed performance targets.
  • Lead, coach and manage the performance of the team in line with good people management practices.
  • Supervise staff and activities in the dispensary to ensure that all work is completed accurately, promptly and in order of priority.
  • Deliver a customer-focused service to all patients who attend the Dispensary.
  • Promote pharmaceutical care for all patients.
  • Provide specialized advice to patients/clients directly using the dispensary service.
  • Investigate Pharmacy errors relating to the Dispensary.
  • Participate in regular performance appraisal meetings.
  • Ensure the team is compliant with all statutory, mandatory training.
  • Manage team absences including sickness in line with Trust policy.
  • Line manage staff, including allocated band 3 and band 5 dispensary staff.
Requirements
  • Professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Experience of training and supervision of pharmacy staff.
  • Direct Line management of staff.
  • Knowledge of procedures for dispensary services.
  • Practice Supervisor Training or equivalent.
