Children's Deputy Pharmacy Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Manager to join our Pharmacy team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Dispensary Manager in the provision of all operational aspects of the dispensary service, including inpatients, outpatients, and controlled drugs.
Main Responsibilities- Lead and manage the performance of the team in line with good people management practices.
- Supervise staff and activities in the dispensary to ensure accurate, prompt, and prioritized work completion.
- Deliver a customer-focused service to all patients attending the Dispensary.
- Adhere to the highest principles of customer service when dealing with patients, staff, and the public.
- Promote pharmaceutical care for all patients.
- Check clinically screened dispensed prescriptions.
- Provide specialized advice to patients/clients directly using the dispensary service.
- Participate in ward-based activities as necessary.
- Investigate Pharmacy errors relating to the Dispensary.
- Participate in regular performance appraisal meetings.
- Ensure the team is compliant with all statutory, mandatory training, and professional training requirements.
- Manage team absences, including sickness, in line with Trust policy.
- Identify and fill any vacancies within the team.
- Review skills mix at regular intervals.
- Line manage staff, including allocated band 3 and band 5 dispensary staff.
- Carry out regular 1:1 meetings and appraisals.
- Ensure overall wellbeing of the team is maintained.
- Professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Experience of training and supervision of pharmacy staff.
