Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced nurse to lead our critical care transfer service. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational delivery of the service, ensuring that clinical care meets the highest standards and is aligned with national guidance.

This is a fixed-term contract lasting 12 months, covering maternity leave. The ideal candidate will have significant recent leadership experience in critical care, a strong understanding of national and local specialty-specific issues, and excellent advanced critical care clinical skills.

The salary for this position is approximately £83,800 per annum, based on the NHS Agenda for Change pay scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve service effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with national guidelines and regulations.
  • Contribute to national adult transfer service development and be an active member of the South West Critical Care Network Transfer Group.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in nursing.
  • Evidence of Masters level academic study or willingness to work towards Masters.
  • Completion of Step 1-3 competencies or equivalent experience in critical care.
  • Ability to demonstrate significant and recent critical care experience.
  • Recent relevant experience with intra-hospital and inter-hospital transfer.
