About the Role

We're seeking compassionate and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Singing for the Brain Support Volunteers. As a valued member of our team, you'll play a vital role in creating a supportive environment for people affected by dementia to enjoy a fun and engaging activity.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Welcoming and engaging with people with dementia, helping them feel at ease and included.
  • Providing encouragement and support to participants, enabling them to fully engage in the singing activity.
  • Assisting the session facilitator with the activities, either online or in-person.
  • Displaying compassion and empathy towards individuals with dementia and their carers.

You'll be great for the role if:

  • You have an interest in developing meaningful relationships and making a positive impact.
  • You're passionate about enabling people with dementia to find their voice through music.
  • You're fun, enthusiastic, and able to navigate online platforms with confidence.
  • You have excellent listening skills and can display compassion and empathy.

Minimum Age 16

This group currently meets on Thursdays. We're looking for regular volunteers for our groups in Abergavenny and Monmouth.
