Job Title: Advanced Paediatric Pharmacist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled pharmacist to join our Paediatric Haematology and Oncology team at Great Ormond Street Hospital. As an Advanced Paediatric Pharmacist, you will play a key role in providing clinical pharmacy services to our patients with cancer and blood disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver a clinical pharmacy service to the Inpatient and Daycare Haematology/Oncology/BMT wards, including screening chemotherapy and its supportive care as required.
  • Lead, support, and develop junior pharmacists and pre-registration pharmacists in the rotation by acting as a role model or section manager.
  • Support the pharmacists working within the cytotoxic unit with prescription screening, worksheet generation, and final release of products as required.
  • Participate in departmental and multidisciplinary audit/research activities to ensure that cost-improvement and quality targets are met.

We are looking for a pharmacist with experience in providing clinical services in Haematology and Oncology, who is passionate about improving patient care and outcomes. You will have excellent communication and leadership skills, and be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements:
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Post-graduate Diploma (or working towards) in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent
  • Experience providing a clinical service in Haematology/Oncology
  • Multidisciplinary working
  • Experience working in Chemotherapy Aseptic Services
  • Policy and service development
  • Experience acting as tutor/supervisor for clinical pharmacy certificate/diploma students or pre-registration pharmacists
  • Member of or able to become a member of Neonatal & Paediatric Pharmacist & Paediatric Oncology Pharmacists Group
  • Use of medicines in specialist area of paediatrics
  • Experience working with international and private patients
