Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 nurse to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team at St Michaels Hospital. As a Senior Staff Nurse, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the development of junior nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate the care of patients on the HDU and SC cots, working closely with the Sister in charge of the unit.
  • Support and educate new and junior members of the nursing team, promoting their development into QIS nurses.
  • Act as a role model and promote a culture of excellence in patient care, ensuring a high-quality environment for patients and their families.
  • Develop and implement innovative and evidence-based nursing practices, promoting best practice in patient care.
  • Support the team leader in completing staff appraisals and sick returns, ensuring effective management of the nursing team.
