Nurse Practitioner for Complex Mental Health Care

Job Description
- To deliver high-quality clinical care to patients with complex mental health needs, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop effective care plans.
- Maintain accurate records of patient assessments, interventions, and progress, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance patient experience and outcomes through quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in individual and group supervision, receiving feedback and guidance to support professional development and growth.
- Collaborate with service management to ensure systems are in place for ongoing review and assessment of care provision and delivery, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Report any incidents or concerns as per Trust policies, supporting investigations and contributing to risk management strategies.
- Engage with patients and their families to promote empowerment, choice, and participation in care planning, ensuring that individual needs and preferences are respected and prioritised.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Degree-level qualification in Nursing (Mental Health) or equivalent.
- Post-qualification experience in mental health nursing, preferably in an older adult ward setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in mentorship, preceptorship, and supervision, with a commitment to coaching and developing colleagues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in pressurised situations, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care and maintaining a safe environment.
